Abstract

The purposes of “THE STYLE OF YOUNG MOTORBIKE'S GANG INSPIRED A PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT FOR HOME DECORATIONS” are as follows: 1) To study the aesthetics of young motorbike’s gang in order to come up with design guidelines 2) To express the identity of young motorbike’s gang styling through Object Design 3) To design and develop the materials as home decorations; focusing on the identity building processes from the roots of its cultural mindset that is displayed from the motorbike decorations. Participant Observation was chosen as the methodology to collect data. To study the system of mindset and the physical appearance of the young motorbike’s gang from motorbike drag racing where is the place to be assemble of young motorbike’s gang who love both the speed style and the design style. And to study from in-depth interviews with automotive styling and design specialists in order to utilize in the creation of object design to express subculture identity through the object and to be analyzed to aesthetic value coming up with design guidelines. The final process is to apply the aesthetic outcome inspired by young motorbike’s gang styling to develope as home decorations which aims to convince mainstream society to accept its aesthetic values. The result shows that the identity “young motorbike’s gang styling” is the reflection of Thai automotive styling. This traditional style is recognized by its colorful tone, rainbow, which is the production of Anodizing Titanium process. The outstanding technique is delicate pipe welding for exhaust muffler. It results in the charming body of the automotive. The knowledge can be the guideline to design and develope a prototype of home decorations which is displayed the essence of materials of both welding joints and colortone rainbow. It is through the outstanding concept of the color of paradox and thought of rebelling against itself, and it can be blended in the other home decorating styles having simple and uncomplicated appearance in order to be more interesting, such as Industrial Loft Style, Minimal Style, Modern Style and etc. Moreover, the aesthetic knowledge of young motorbike’s gang can be applied to other creative products.
