Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study and to compare age in terms of cultural tourism image of Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province in Thai youth perception. This research was mixed method research that is quantitative research, the sample were 385 Thai youth who travelled to Pra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province and a questionnaire was used as a survey tool, and qualitative research, the sample were 5 persons who had experienced regarding cultural tourism. Data were analyzed statistically using the frequency, percentage, means, standard deviation, content analysis and the test value “t” (t-test) in order to compare the cultural tourism image of Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province in Thai youth perception by age interval. The results were as followed; 1. The majority of Thai youth was female whose age was 19 – 25 years old. The highest education level was the Bachelor’s degree and most of them were students. 2. The majority of Thai youth travelled to Ayutthaya Province with family for more than 3 times. The main purpose was to travel and recreate in the weekend. Moreover, they accessed information concerning the cultural attraction in Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province via internet. 3. The most image of cultural tourism in Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province which effected perception of Thai youth was cultural history and art (X = 4.38, S.D. = 0.553) and followed by atmosphere of the place. (X= 4.35, S.D. = 0.537) 4. Comparison Cultural Tourism image of Phra Nakorn Si Ayutthaya province in Thai youth perception by age interval, there was no significant difference between 15 -18 years old and 19 – 25 years old at 0.05 levels.
