Abstract

Nowadays, the electronic textiles (E-textiles have gained much attention and tend to be more developed in future. The attention of this work is to develop the triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) that can convert mechanical energy from friction and transform into electricity for driving electronic components in textile. The cotton fabric is used as the main friction material and thefabric/CNT composite is used as flexibleelectrode. Modifying various functional groups of cotton by three types of dyes i.e., reactive, direct, and basic dyes is studied. The functional groups of each samples can be identified by infrared spectroscopy. The effect of each dyes on dielectric constant is studied. It was found that the dielectric constant of all fabric/dyes is higher than that of the pure cotton for ǰtimes. According to the electrical output measurement, cotton/reactive dyes shows higher electrical output than those of cotton/basic and cotton/direct dyes. The cotton/reactive blue dyes obviously shows the best output efficiency because of high electron donor ability from its functional group and metal atom This condition can provide the maximum output voltage (VOC), output current (ISC) and output power (Pmax) at ~ǰV, ~ǰnA and ~ǰw8 ǰSFTQFDUJWFMZǰ5IBUǰ is higher than pure cotton for ǰtimes. It was concluded that the functional group is a crucial role to control the output efficiency. Moreover, this work also apply the cotton/dyes TENG to be electronic sensor for operate the LED light-bulb. The authors expect that this research will be useful for the development of energy harvesting devices for utilizing in E- textiles industry in future.
