Abstract

This paper introduces three-phase induction motor drive system with function of harmonic current injection for non-linear load using Matlab/Simulink. The drive system consists of two converters. A single-phase grid-connected converter which is the first converter in the drive system is regulated by PI controller of DC-link voltage control loop, and switched by hysteresis control. Moreover, the converter is able to generate harmonic current to eliminate harmonic current in grid with harmonic detection algorithm. The other is three-phase three-leg voltage source inverter for three-phase induction motor drive controlled with close loop V/F speed control. The simulation results revealed that the motor could keep speed constant rated speed, having been taken rated load torque at 10 Nm. Furthermore, the grid converter could keep DC-link voltage constant at 540 V for rated voltage of the motor, improved grid current waveform being like sinusoidal waveform and eliminated harmonic of grid current. © 2020 IEEE.
